Some of our images are shown with a background.  When your mosaic purchase arrives there will be no background.  These are not set as a platform or tile background.  The individual color tiles are adhered to a mesh material to make the whole design image.  Grout, thin set, marble dust, etc. will go between the tile pieces and over the mesh material.  You will not see the mesh after installation.

This is ceramic tile and the thickness varies.  Most will be approx. 1/4" thick.
